He loved deeply, valued the people in his life, and was dearly cherished by his family and friends.
A gifted athlete, Levi had a lifelong passion for football. His dedication to the sport led him to play at Arkansas State University, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories. Whether on the field or among family and friends, Levi approached life with determination, humility, and heart. He had a way of making those around him feel valued, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those he loved.
He is survived by his mother, Karis Thompson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his father, John Thompson of Warsaw, Missouri; his brother, Caleb Thompson (Katie) of Raytown, Missouri; his brother, Stephen Thompson; his beloved nephew Dylan and niece Olivia of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
Levi was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lori Thompson, of Warsaw, Missouri.
Levi’s memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of loyalty, strength, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5pm, Monday, July 6, 2026, followed by visitation from 6-8pm, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ray-Pec Athletics.

Levi was a fun and bubbly person who left a lasting impact on our family. DJ and I looked through all the A-State picks yesterday and remembered him. Those two were thick as thieves during their time together. I’m so very sorry this happened.

Our condolences and prayers for peace and comfort are extended to all. Levi was kind, caring abd considerate to our son, John Baalman during their high school years. Levi picked him up and drove John to school every morning, stood up for him and included John in every football activity. John was the Manager for the Ray Pec Panthers Football team. Levi was the first student that embraced John, welcomed him and made him feel a part of the team. Levi wil forever live in out hearts and serve as reminder of how good, kind and gracious people can be to others.
John my heart breaks for you and your family. I know you and Levi were close . It’s so hard to image losing a child. I can’t think of anything I could say to make it easier except I hope the many friends and family that loved Levi will remember him for ever and keep all of you in their thoughts and prayers . My deepest Condolences my friend.

When Karis was updating us at church, about her life, she began with stories of Levi and Caleb. Always joy in her tone.
Prayers for peace and comfort. We’re assured stories of Levi will be shared.
Thinking of you as you journey through your grief.
