Linda Lucille (Lockard) O’Dell

Linda Lucille (Lockard) O’Dell, age 93, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born February 3, 1931, in Warrensburg, Missouri.  She graduated from College High School in 1948 where she met her husband of 69 years, Audley O’Dell. Together they founded O’Dell Tractor which would become a 50-year strong business in Independence. As a lifelong Christian she was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church of Independence.

She loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and the daily Wordle. She also loved to crochet, quilt, and craft. She loved feeding her family and friends and was known for her fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and homemade hot rolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Audley O’Dell, her parents Rex Lockard and Grace Lockard, siblings Mildred O’Dell, Don Lockard, Rexanne Baker, and granddaughter Jamie Kennedy.  She is survived by her children Steve O’Dell, Mindy Shields (Mel), Scott O’Dell (Julie), and Audi O’Dell, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Join us in a gathering of family and friends, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 2-4pm, at Heartland Celebration of Life Center, 802 NW Vesper Street, Blue Springs, MO. This day would have been Linda and Audley’s 75th wedding anniversary.
