She was born on May 7, 2003, in Kansas City, MO to Ricklin and Gina (Glaus) Lowrey.

Logan graduated in May from Shawnee Mission East High School where she was an avid member of her band family. Logan was a great inspiration to everyone she met during her battle with cancer for over 4 years.

Logan left our world much too soon, but she lived life to the fullest! She had more amazing experiences and touched more lives in her short 18 years, especially in the last 4 as she battled Osteosarcoma, than most people do in a lifetime. Her old soul was apparent at a very young age. Logan’s contagious smile lit up every room, enabling her to make meaningful connections with both humans and animals. She was passionate about everything she did from loving her family, friends and caregivers, to playing in the marching, symphonic and Jazz bands at Shawnee Mission East, Camp Quality Northwest Missouri and volunteering at Wayside Waifs. Her thirst for knowledge of things in this world and beyond was never-ending. Nothing could stop this fierce and loving young lady. Her grace throughout unimaginable circumstances was awe-inspiring. This warrior motivated thousands with her courage and strength, yet she sought no recognition or praise.

Logan is survived by her mother Gina, brother Garrett, and pug Eva of the home in Prairie Village, KS, brother Joe (Josiah) Lowrey and wife MaKenzie Lowrey and daughter Graceyn of St. Joseph, MO, and sister Brie Lowrey of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricklin Lowrey of the home in Prairie Village, grandparents Kay and Howard Dale Lowrey of Chillicothe, MO and Suzi and Larry Glaus of Benton, MO.

Throughout her cancer journey, Logan received great comfort and relief from numerous alternative treatments such as essential oils, reflexology, acupuncture and massage. We have established the Logan Lowrey Memorial Fund so others may benefit from her experience. These funds will be used to provide cancer kids with gifts of oils and an introduction to alternative treatments for nausea, neuropathy and more and help defray the costs of these amazing services as we pay it forward in her memory. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Logan Lowrey Memorial Fund, in care of The First National Bank of Louisburg, 4200 W. 83rd St., Prairie Village, KS 66208 or through Venmo to @LoganLowrey-MemorialFund. The 4-digit Venmo code is 9238

Logan was exactly as stated, awe-inspiring. Every obstacle she faced, she faced with grace and a fighter’s heart. I wish I knew her longer, but time is irrelevant; to know Logan was to love Logan. We didn’t need years of friendship to bond quickly and form a strong care for one another. She was wise beyond her years, and beyond most people’s lifetimes. I will miss her deeply. My most sincere condolences to her Momma, Garrett, and all who were blessed to know her.

Logan was a special young lady. She had a positive impact on everyone with whom she came into contact and was a leader both in the classroom and in the halls. The student body looked up to Logan at Shawnee Mission East and chose her as their Homecoming Queen this past fall. My deepest condolences to her family, friends, and community.

Although I didn’t know Logan personally, I knew of her resilient spirit through her mother. Logan was a pillar of strength for her family and friends. She kept them on course, not only with her treatment plans, but she ensured they enjoyed happy times for themselves as well.

May God bless this family and show them Logan is smiling down on them each day.
