Lonnie L. Huffmaster

Lonnie L. Huffmaster, 92, of Independence, Mo passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at The Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Mo.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Heartland, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo 64133. Lonnie was born January 17, 1929 in Lowell, Arkansas, the son of Bill and Georgia Huffmaster. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He resided in the Kansas City, Mo area 56 years of his life.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Omega; one brother, Floyd Huffmaster, and 3 sisters, Norma Lee Townzen, Retta Mae Palmore and Francis Wright.  He is survived by his daughters, Joreeta Long and Rhonda DeFord; and sons, Richard, Dean, Leon, and David Huffmaster; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Darrell and Billy Huffmaster.

He worked hard to be a good provider for his family and loved to fish and hunt.  His eyes would always light up when he knew he was going fishing or hunting.  He was a simple man and will be missed by his children and the rest of his family.

    Dad,
    You taught without saying a word. You imparted so much not just to us, but everyone you came in contact with. Your kind and gentle ways were your strength.
    There was nothing you couldn’t do.
    I true man among men.
    We loved you, more than you knew.
    You will forever be missed.
