Loyd A. Dillinger

Loyd A. Dillinger, 86, of Raytown, Missouri passed away February 6, 2023. He was born July 26, 1936 in Viola, Arkansas to Troy and Ora Dillinger. He grew up in Bexar, Arkansas, and moved on January 1, 1952 to Bakersfield, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. Loyd moved to Kansas City in March 0f 1955 and went to work at Clay and Bailey Manufacturing. He married Betty Nevels on August 23, 1956. To this union three children were born, Chuck in 1957, Jerry in 1959 and Jeanie in 1960.

Loyd would eventually work for Manor Bakery, as a door to door salesman. He changed jobs in 1964 and started working at Union Station as a maintenance and signalman. He retired in 1994, but would go back to work as a maintenance man at Union Station in 1996. He retired for the last time in 2006.

Work was very important to Loyd so he had many side jobs. He loved building things with wood and was good at it.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty J. Dillinger; sisters Maxine Bales, Loraine Bales and Nova Dillinger.

Survivors include his children Chuck and Glee Dillinger; Jerry and Sheri Dillinger; and Jeanie and Maurice; grandchildren Troy Dillinger, Chad Dillinger, Melinda J. Dillinger Ball, and Jeneva; and sister Wanda Ferguson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00pm. There will be a private graveside following.
