Lula Mae Woods-Cheadle

Lula Mae Woods-Cheadle departed life at the age of 87 on March 8, 2022. She was born on April 19, 1934, in Bokchita, Oklahoma born to the union of Jay Gould Lewis and Gladys Beatrice Frazier.
She accepted Christ at an early childhood with First Baptist Church, Tishomingo Oklahoma and later in life she moved to Kansas City, Mo where she was a lifelong member of Spruce St. Matthew Baptist Church. Lula attended Booker T. Washington High School where she graduated in 1949 as the Salutatorian. Her last position of employment was at Baptist Medical as a Psychiatric Technician.

Preceding her in death was her father and mother, two sisters (Cleopatra Gaddis and Shirle Jean Haddix) and one child (Vickie Michelle Davis).

To cherish her memory is her brother James L. Booker (Kathy) of Virginia, Beach; Deborah Ann Latimer of Kansas City, Mo; Ronald N. Woods (Annette) of Ardmore OK; Deitra Wilson of Kansas City, MO; Karl Jay Woods (Jamesetta) of Kansas City, Mo; and LaVonna Elaine Woods of Kansas City, Mo. Lula leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as three generation of great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a great deal of friends all of which will miss her very much.

Lula loved attending church and spending time with her family as well as watching WWE and Westerns, she also enjoyed good food, especially her sweets.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, MO. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 2:00pm.
