Wellsville, KS – Marc Steven Smith was born on April 24, 1962 in Omaha, NE to LeRoy Smith and Joyce Petersen. On November 23, 2019, at the premature age of 57, Marc passed peacefully from the Olathe Medical Center and walked through Heaven’s gates.
As a child, Marc and his family lived in Montana before moving to Kansas in 1979. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School with the class of 1980. During high school he began working for Meico Lamp Parts. Marc was a Logistics Manager at Meico for 37 years and ended his employment in July 2017.
During his short stay on earth Marc involved himself in many things. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and RV’ing with his family. Marc was involved in many sports leagues in the Johnson County area including, soccer, bowling and baseball. He loved gardening, planting flowers and tending to his animals. Marc was also a hobbyist. He enjoyed restoring furniture, antiques, and old weaponry. Marc spent a lot of time volunteering, helping friends and family, and catering to the needs of others. At the end of his life, Marc was blessed to have found Jesus and accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Marc was welcomed into Heaven by his loving parents, LeRoy Frances Smith and Joyce Kay Petersen and brother, Mike Smith. Marc is awaiting and survived by his loving wife, Regina; daughters, Annie Meyer (Mitch Meyer), Alydia Offutt (Brandon Offutt), Veronica Gloria (Raul Portillo) and Carlee Smith; sons, Joseph “Cash” Crissup, Richard Coronado and Eddie Coronado; Grandchildren, Gabriel, Esteban, Ellen, Carson, Louis, and Nadia; sister, Michelle Collichio (Fred Collichio); brother, Matt Smith (Sheryl Smith); and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held December 5, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Community Revival Center Church – 2749 Montana Rd. Ottawa, KS 66067.

He was a man that would help you any way he could from cutting down trees to helping get animals to the fair or helping friends/neighbors fixing the screw up they got themselves into. All you had to do is call Marc.

Marc, you were my brother and friend growing up and we shared many fun times together. Thank You for taking me fishing at all those places around Kansas in your boat. We also had great trips in Iowa hunting pheasants when I lived there. We did not spend much time together while we were both raising our families, but we had fun staying in touch on the phone and telling stores about Dad and our time growing up in Montana. You were a caring and giving person and I will miss you.
