Margaret M. Nichols, 74, of Independence, Missouri passed away May 3 2017 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society in Raytown, Missouri with graveside service to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.
Margaret was born on December 17, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from East High School. She worked at the Sears Roebuck & Co. Mail Order Plant from high school until the close of the plant in 1993. She later worked in a local podiatry office for several years. She loved to read, watch movies and was a season ticket holder to the KC Symphony for years. She also loved cheering on the Royals.
She was preceded in death by her parents George & Helen Van Trump; her husband Allan R. Nichols; and her sister Loretta Thompson. Survivors include son, Scott Nichols, wife Marichu and son Corvin, Ashburn, Virginia; daughter Marlene Hammerstrom, husband Steve and children, Mia and Chase, Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; sister, Kathleen Gormon, Belton, Missouri; brothers, George & JoAnn Van Trump, Wheat Ridge,
Colorado, and Edward & Debra Van Trump, of Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made to your preferred Hospice organization.
