Marian Avis (Medley) Kilgore

Marian Avis Kilgore of Independence, Mo. passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs. Marian was born February 22, 1940. She graduated from Fort Osage High School and married her High School sweetheart George Kilgore, who was her devoted husband and companion for 57 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy Medley and Arlene Medley; her beloved stepfather Herbert Pemberton; devoted uncle, Clay Pemberton and brother David Medley.

Marian is survived by her husband, George and sons, Daniel Kilgore, Timothy Kilgore, grandson Anthony Kilgore and sister Mona Grace. She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.

She chose to be a homemaker during her sons early years but later worked at Blue Valley Federal as a teller and office manager and at the Mid-Continent Library Distribution Center.

Marian was an active member of Community of Christ and she led a life of love and service to those around her. She held the office of Priest and had served as women’s leader, Sunday school teacher and assistant to the financial officer.

Services will be held Friday, February 6, at Osage hills Community of Christ, 27503 E. Blue Mills Rd, Sibley, Mo. Visitation will be at 9:  A.M. with funeral service following at 10:00 A.M.

The graveside service will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo. at 1:00 P.M., 20109 Business Highway 13.
