Marie Josephine Shaver, loving wife, wonderful mother, of Las Vegas, NV, age 83, passed away Friday July 7, 2011 in Overland Park, KS, following an injury from a fall.
She was born February 10, 1928, in the town of Atchison, KS, to the late Asaph Merriam (Dick) Higley and Mary Josephine Hamm Higley. She attended Atchison County Community High school, Effingham, KS and graduated in 1947. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Charles Shaver in Cummings, KS. In 1967 Marie and Charley moved from Illinois to California.
Marie is survived by her sons: Gary-Livermore, CA, Sandy-Las Vegas, NV, and Chuck-Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Ernest-Cummings, KS; four grandchildren, Robert Charles (RC), Devin, Kelly and Hannah; great grandson, Dereck. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Marie will be greatly missed by all. A private memorial took place at Mt. Charleston, 10:30 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011.
