Marilee (Scanlan) Buschmann

Marilee (Scanlan) Buschmann, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on June 11th, 2018. Marilee was born to Louis Thomas and Mary Jean (Walker) Scanlan, June 9, 1939 in St Joseph Missouri. She was the oldest of four children, Emily “Lou” Muller, Lawrence “Larry” Scanlan and Linda Thompson. Marilee was raised in the Kansas City area, spending the early years of her marriage to Edgar Buschmann in Paducah, Kentucky before returning to Kansas City in the early 60’s. Around 2006, she moved to California to enjoy some time with her California kids and grandkids. Her heart always belonged to the Midwest and when it was time to retire, she returned to Raytown and lived with her daughter Beth. Marilee leaves behind 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Marilee is preceded in death by her parents, “Daddy Tom and Mamaw Jean”, brother Larry Scanlan and sister Emily “Lou” Muller. A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Marilee will be missed by her large and forever loving family: sister Linda (Greg) Thompson of Tsaile, Arizona; children Brenda (Phil) Hanna of Lake Balboa, California; Rebecca Archer of Kansas City, Missouri; Barbara (Brian) Galien of Valencia, California; Elizabeth Buschmann of Raytown, Missouri; Beverly Buschmann of Fort Collins, Colorado; John (BilliJo) Buschmann of Olathe, Kansas; and Brandee Buschmann of Kansas City, Missouri: grandchildren Phil (Kimberly) Hanna and great granddaughter Riley; Katie (Robert) Coe; Jake Archer; Mandy Archer; Evan Galien and great grandson Brayden; Aden Galien; Josh (Alexandria) Beeson and great granddaughters Tinley and Madeline; Ashley Beeson; Britney (Trent) Biggerstaff; Kelsey (Robert) Carton; and Zachary Schroeder. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend, Buddy.
