Marjorie Carolyn Chapman, born July 3, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 93. She was surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren at North Kansas City Hospital. Marjorie’s life was defined by her devotion to her family, her enduring strength, and her kind and caring spirit. She will be truly missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Manley, her parents, Gordon and Leota Chapman, and her sister, Sylvia Bales. She is survived by her brother, Michael Chapman (Cathy); her daughter, Karen Peine (Mike) of Platte City, MO; her son, Richard Blackburn Jr. of Kansas City, MO; her daughter, Susan Peterson, and two beloved granddaughters, Erin and Natalie Peterson, all of Kansas City, MO; and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
A memorial service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Leavenworth National Cemetery (150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, KS 66048). Guests are asked to gather at the office at 10:45 a.m. and then proceed together to the committal site.
