Mary Elizabeth Bond, age 92, passed away on March 5, 2023 at Lenoir Health Care Center in Columbia, Missouri due to natural causes. Mary was born on September 26, 1930 to parents Ralph J. and Sophie K. (Wehmeyer) Borgmeyer in St. Charles, Missouri.
Mary married the love of her life, Mark, in St. Charles, Missouri in 1948. They raised their family in Chester, Illinois and moved to Sebring, Florida in 1990. Mary was a devout Catholic, and some of her favorite pastimes included golf, crafts, cooking, and time with family and friends. Mary moved to Columbia, Missouri in 2011 to be closer to family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Sophie; husband Mark; sons Mike and Leland; daughter Christine Cone. She was one of eleven children and is survived by three sisters and one brother; daughter Karen Peetz; grandchildren, Melinda (Chad) Kopser and Matthew Cone; great-grandchildren, Riley and Dresden Kopser.
Memorial services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 911 Swanwick Street, Chester, IL 62233 on Thursday, March 16th. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am, with mass beginning at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America at PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online at dementiasociety.org/donate.
