Mary Kennedy

Mary Patricia (Supple) Kennedy, Kansas City, passed away on June 18, 2007 at Kansas City Hospice House after a long illness. Ms Kennedy was born June 30, 1927 in Atchison, Kansas. Her parents were Patrick Supple and Genevieve Hays Supple who preceded her in death. On November 30, 1968 Ms Supple married James A Kennedy, both of Denver, Colorado at the time. Mr. Kennedy survives at their home. They have one son, Timothy James Kennedy, Raytown and two grandchildren, Sara and Vince Kennedy, Centerview, MO. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Jim and Jack, St Joseph, MO; Ann Fangman, Atchison Kansas and Katie Supple, Kansas City. She is survived by two sisters, Genevieve Downey, Minneapolis, MN and Maureen Hardy, Kansas City and many nephews and nieces. Ms Kennedy will be missed by her lifelong and dear friends; Joe and Shirley Harris, Denver, Colorado, Rollie and Evelyn Lippert, Lee’s Summit and Dick and Nancy Alberhasky, Kansas City. She attended Mount St Scholastica Academy and College in Atchison, Kansas. She taught English at Mount St Scholastica. She retired from St. Teresa’s Academy, Kansas City where she was head of the English Department. Her father was born in Youghal, County Cork Ireland. Ms. Kennedy was very much involved in her Irish Heritage. She was especially fond of it’s Music and Literature. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 8941 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, MO. The mass will be at 10 am June 22, 2007and visitation will take place at 9 am. It is requested that flowers not be sent. Memorials may be made to Mount St. Scholastica Convent, 801 S. 8th, Atchison, Kansas 66002. Cremation and private interment.
