Mary Lou Weddle, 85, of Independence, Mo passed away July 7, 2018 at home from Congestive Heart Failure. Memorial services will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Mo. Mrs. Weddle was born September 30, 1932 in Salina, Kansas.
Mary Lou was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was widowed at 29 after only nine years of marriage. Her sixth child was born after her husband’s untimely death. Throughout her life she displayed uncommon courage to face the many challenges and tragedies the world presents us with. Her faith in God sustained her and her love for her family nourished her. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and an example of Christian charity for all of us to follow.
She died at her home under hospice care following a long recovery from a broken hip. She was surrounded by her family. KINDRED HOSPICE is owed a ‘special thanks’ for the service they provided during her final days.
Her husband Vernon and son Guy preceded her in death.
She is survived by children Stuart, Cindy, Vernon, Janey, Ava & their spouses Gary, Teresa, Rod, & John. Her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great comfort to her and source of special pride.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I’m so sorry for your loss and am praying for comfort.
My condolence to you, Stuart, and your family. My prayers are with you.

Our deepest sympathies and condolence
Were so very sorry for your loss; we’ve just learned of her passing. We dearly love you all and pray for God’s comfort during this time of deepest grief.
So sorry on your moms passing, my heart goes out to all of you. She was a great woman and I know she will be greatly missed.
Mary Lou’s death was like a great Oak Tree falling in the forest. She made us ice cream, cut my hair, sewed our clothes. She raised 6 kids all by herself after Uncle Vernon’s tragic, accidental death We used to go over to her house and play with her kids, and had the best time. She had a wonderful garden, had a cow to milk. Oh, how you don’t know what you had, until it is gone.
Just new heard of your loss. Prayers to you and your family.
