Mary Robinson

Mary ’Kathy’ Robinson, 54, K.C., Mo., passed away December 19, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., December 26, at the East Alton branch of Community of Christ Church, 16999 E. 23rd. St., Independence, Mo. 64057. Kathy was a darling, funny, ’slaphappy’ (as described by dad Johnny) little child who grew up in Independence, Mo. with sisters Linda Hedges, Nancy Mathis, and Peggy Pedigo. She won 2nd place in a MO state children’s bowling tournament and later excelled in track and field at Truman High School. After high school Kathy married, and eventually had 4 children, Brion Watling and Jennifer Carrillo of Phoenix, Az., Donque and Issac Smith of K.C. and Independence, Mo. Respectively, who survive her. She lived at various times in Colorado, Virginia, Texas, and finally Leavenworth, KS. after serving active duty in the army as a nurse and in a Desert Storm Mash unit. She had an engaging personality and loved animals and camping. Kathy had recently moved back to Independence to be near her grandchildren Kateyln and Alexis. In addition to her children and their families, Kathy is survived by her mothers, Larena and Laura, an uncle, Aunt Viola and other aunts, nephews, cousins, and her little dog.
