Mary “Mardell” Stephens


Mary “Mardell” Stephens, 95, of Raytown, Missouri passed away September 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be at Ivanhoe United Church of Christ in Raytown at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2013 followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM.

During the war she worked at Pratt & Whitney Engine Works as a time keeper and later retired from Safeway Regional Offices. She lived for and was completely devoted to her family and loved all things that included them, especially games, camping and picnics. Mardell’s love of the Lord was reflected in the way she lived her life. The love she shared with her husband was a testimony to all who knew her.

Mardell was preceded in death by her parents and her 4 sisters.

She is survived by Charles, her loving and faithful husband of 69 years, daughter Nancy (Frank) Stockman of Fayette, Iowa, son Terry (Jeanne) Stephens of Overland Park, Kansas, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a very special sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ivanhoe United Church of Christ Memorial Fund in Raytown, Missouri.

    I thank God that you and Charles are together again. This time it will be for eternity. May you forever live in Heaven with your Lord. I will miss knowing you are not here, but rejoice in the knowledge that you are home.
