Marybelle Ohms

Marybelle Ohms, 90, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1936, in Missouri.

Marybelle was known for her vibrant personality from an early age. Her sister fondly remembered her as “the life of the party” during their high school years, a reflection of the warmth and joy she brought to those around her throughout her life.

She married Roger Ohms, and together they welcomed two children, Sharon Gowans and Robert Ohms. Although Marybelle and Roger later divorced, she remained devoted to her family.

Over the years, Marybelle held several positions, including serving as secretary to the Fire Chief of Kansas City. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career.

Above all, Marybelle’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was a born-again believer who loved attending church, worshiping the Lord, and living out her faith. Her love for God, her joyful spirit, and her kind heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

Marybelle will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Marybelle was preceded in death by son, Robert Lee Ohms; father, Ira Bourne; mother, Mabel Bourne; and sister, Dottie Asher.

She is survived by daughter, Sharon Gowans; granddaughter, Shannon Ohms; great-grandson, Mikah Ohms; and several nieces.
