Matthew Luke Pierce, 47, passed away on June 1, 2025, at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on February 18, 1978, in Wyandotte County, to Teri (Meyer) Nicholas, and the late Jeffrey Pierce. Matt grew up in Grandview, Missouri and attended Grandview Senior High School.
Matt, a loving father and grandfather, is deeply missed by his children Shane, Haley, Zoe, and Kassidy, and his grandchild Zayley. He is also mourned by his mother Teri Nicholas, siblings Melissa Roe, Christina Hembree, Jonathan Nicholas, and the love of his life, Diana Cox, along with a large extended family.
Preceded in death by his father Jeffrey Pierce, brother Jason Pierce, and grandparents Mae and Don Meyer, and Lavona “Pee Wee” and Raymond Pierce, Matt was part of a rich family history that he carried forward with love and honor.
Matt’s greatest love was his children and grandchild. No matter the obstacles, the presence of his four children filled his days with boundless love and purpose. They were his deepest pride, and he treasured each moment spent with them.
Matt, a dog lover, leaves behind King and Baby. He cherished his home and enjoyed spending time outdoors. His passions included BMX biking, skateboarding, painting, woodcarving, and fishing. He skillfully designed and crafted skate ramps and BMX tracks, sharing many hours riding them with his children. His enthusiasm for these activities brought joy and connection. Matt also became a father figure to several of his children’s friends.
In his professional life, Matt took pride in his flooring business, where his dedication and skill led to significant achievements and satisfaction over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Heartland Society, located at 6113 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Raytown, Missouri, 64133, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor and remember Matt’s vibrant life and enduring legacy.
Matt will be remembered for his kind heart, creative spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
May you find peace in the after Matt . You will be missed also as your brother is missed may you find eackother and look upon us. Tell my little brother hi for me also. I’m sure you are all just awaiting us all. Till then Rock On !
