Maurice G. Dresslaer

Maurice G. Dresslaer, 72, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1954, in Lamar, Missouri, to Gerald and Maurine Dresslaer.

Maurice spent most of his life working as a skilled mechanic. He was employed as a diesel mechanic with the metro bus company and had a lifelong passion for working on older vehicles. Whether it was restoring a classic car or helping someone get back on the road, he took pride in his work and was always willing to lend his knowledge and hands.

He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and even made memorable trips to Canada. Maurice appreciated the open road and the experiences that came with it.

Known for his generosity and kind heart, Maurice was always ready to help others. He shared a loving partnership of 25 years with Loyie “Jeanie” Wyatt and cared deeply for her and her daughters, often assisting them with car repairs or offering a helping hand whenever needed. His quiet acts of kindness made a lasting impact on those around him.

He is survived by his partner, Loyie “Jeanie” Wyatt; his son, Jacob; two daughters, Syndi and Jesse; Jeanie’s daughters, Melinda and Jeneva; his sister and brother; several grandchildren; many extended family members and friends; and his beloved dog, Pancake.

Maurice will be remembered for his warmth, his willingness to help others, and his enduring love for family, friends, and the work he enjoyed.
