In Loving Memory of Maxine Ann Noffke January 3, 1926 – April 18, 2026 Maxine Ann Noffke, age 100, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, faith, generosity, and unforgettable love. Maxine was truly one of a kind—elegant, radiant, and full of life. Known as the best grandmother anyone could ever ask for, she had a heart that overflowed with kindness and warmth. She adored animals, especially dogs, and they were always cherished members of her family.
Her compassion extended beyond her own home, as she frequently fostered for the local humane society and never hesitated to take in a stray in need. A successful real estate agent, Maxine carried herself with grace and style. She was a true fashionista, always dressed in designer clothing, with her hair and makeup perfectly done each day—even if she had nowhere special to go. She simply believed in showing up as her best self. She loved shopping, not for herself alone, but for the joy of giving to others. Her loved ones will always remember her slipping them a little extra cash with a smile and the words, “Everyone needs a little walking around money.”
Maxine took immense pride in her beautiful home in the Harry S. Truman district. Her yard was meticulously cared for and earned her the Neighborhood Beautification Award. Inside, her home sparkled with crystal chandeliers and was filled with love, laughter, and decades of cherished memories—holidays, birthdays, and countless special moments shared with family.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Maxine was a devoted follower of Christ, reading her Bible and praying daily. She believed deeply in angels and often asked God to send their protection over those she loved. She found comfort in His promises and the hope of eternity, holding close the words of Scripture: “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:2
She also had a gift for connection. Maxine loved writing letters and exchanging photos with family and friends, always finding ways to stay close no matter the distance. She was hilarious, quick-witted, and delightfully sassy. Her nicknames and sayings will live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Noffke; her son, James M. Noffke; and her daughter, Virginia L. Rugg. She is lovingly remembered by her grandson, James R. Rugg Jr. and his wife Jolene E. Rugg; her granddaughter, Crystal J. McGrath and her husband David S. McGrath; and her seven great-grandchildren: Jayden J. Rugg, Xander J. Rugg, Sebastiana M. Rugg, Isabella L. McGrath, Ezra J. McGrath, Aria A. McGrath, and Levi S. McGrath. Maxine’s beauty, wit, generosity, and unwavering faith will forever be missed, but never forgotten. Her legacy of love will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
