She worked many jobs over her life time but her most important one was raising five girls and continuing to support them and their families. She moved from the city in 1997 to her home in Lakeview Heights at the Lake of the Ozarks. The lake is where she loved to be and her goal was always to see how many flowers she could get in her hilly, rocky yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bernice, her daughter Candy, and her husband of 52 years, Doug.

Surviving of the home is her constant companion Bo. She leaves behind daughters & sons in law, Maurena & Greg DeJanes, North Kansas City, MO; Vickie & Reg Cordry, Leawood, KS; Jean & Jeff Buckley, Kansas City, MO; Mary Ann & Tony Armstrong, Grandview, MO; grandchildren, Ross & Sara DeJanes, Nicole DeJanes & Blake, Jamie Santomasso, Matt Santomasso, Jason & Sarah Buckley, Erica Armstrong, Kate & Kelby Shelton great grandchildren: Marleigh, Adelyn,Haedyn, Liam, Finley, Jesi, Angelina, Hailey. Good friends John, Dee, Kentucky & Murphy and many others at Lakeview Heights.

God and family were the most important things in her life. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A private family service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Mom is missed more than there are words by all of us who loved her. We find comfort, knowing that she is no longer in pain and is with Dad, Candy and all those who have been waiting for her.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Mayan.
