Melissa “Missy” Dawn Biggs passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 30, 2026. She was born on July 9th, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri.
She is survived by her spouse, Christopher Joseph Twitty; son, Gabriel Christopher Twitty; lifelong friend, Sarah Schroer; parents, Gary Francis Biggs and Cheryl Darlene Oliver; and sister, Michelle Renee Biggs.
She was preceded in passing by her grandparents, Garland Lee Biggs and Juanita Matthews; and Ernest Laverne Oliver and Rose Lee Wilkerson.
Missy was a loving mother, wife, and friend, who was fiercely loyal and devoted to her family and friends. She worked for 25 years as a union plumber and gasfitter for the Plumber’s and Gasfitter’s Local Union No. 8 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was known for the warmth, humor and the joy she brought to those around her.
Missy was generous, strong, and protective of those she loved. She was sensitive and kind and always the first to help any person or animal in need. She rescued animals and was fearless when it was required. She had many diverse interests and was creative and curious. She had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and a natural gift for entertaining others.
Melissa faced life with toughness, bravery, and resilience. Even during difficult times, she focused on the needs of others and wanted her loved ones to be happy. She kept a fun and playful attitude and sought to live life to the fullest. The energy, laughter, and imagination she brought into every situation and every life she touched will be missed by those who loved her.
With sympathy remembering Missy a very special person, I was honored to meet. The life she lived will always be remembered. The way she touched hearts with smiles and kindness cannot be erased and will live on forever ✨️ 💛
