Melvin E. Watkins 59, of Columbia passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 in Columbia. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, at St. Thomas Moore Newman Center. Survivors include his mother, Miriam Steffan, Columbia, father, Melvin Glenn Watkins, California; sister, Alicia D’Orazio (Mario), Livonia, MI, brothers, William Watkins and Robert Watkins, Columbia. The family requests no flowers.
I went to high school with Melvin. I was sorry to hear of his passing. Please accept my sympathy and prayers.
Our hearts are heavy during this time of loss. Much love and many prayers to comfort the family.
Melvin was a fellow Hickman ’73 Classmate. He will be surely missed by all. Godspeed to all. The ’73 Kewpie Class
Praying for your family. I went to High School with Melvin and consider myself being a close friend in High School. Sorry I have lost connection but want your family to know that I am in prayer for your family the minute I found out and will be on Friday morning.

Melvin alway’s held on to his dreams even in the darkest of times. His positive attitude was contagious and something we can alll learn from. He will be missed by all.

Carole Sue and I were shocked and saddened to learn recently of Melvin’s death. Please know that you have been and are in our thoughts.

My deepest sympathy to the family, especially Jim, Billy and Robert. Melvin, Billy, Jim and I went to school together. Melvin was always so positive and funny and I considered him a good friend. Sorry I have lost contact with the family but you all are in my prayers.
