Michael A. McCready

Michael A. McCready, 73, of Grain Valley Missouri went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00a Friday, September 4, 2020 at Cross Creek Baptist Mission located in Oak Grove, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 10:30am. Mr. McCready was born on April 13th in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mike was a proud Navy Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed working as a Safety Manager until his retirement in 2007. He cherished spending time with his family and his church where he served as a Deacon. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor and loved long car rides with his loving wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy McCready. Survivors include his wife, Kathy McCready of the home. His children, Melissa (Tony) Smith of Lone Jack, Missouri, Shawna (Troy) Hart of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Timothy McCready of Sheridan, Oregon, Tiffany (Doug) Short of Independence, Missouri and Michael McPeak of Humble, Texas. His grandchildren, Derek Smith, Alison Ross, Evan, Austin, Emily and Joshua Hart, Kayla and Sean McCready, Zachary and Sarah Short, Ryder and Tristan McPeak. His great grandchildren, Aiden and Callie McCready. His sisters Lynn (Larry) Lee of Overland Park, Kansas, Janice Kays of Overland Park, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in Mike’s honor to the mission program of Cross Creek Baptist Mission located at 1050 SW 15th St. Oak Grove, Missouri 64075.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Please know I am feeling your pain. May you all get peace in knowing he is in a better place and God has accepted him with open arms. He was a great and loving man.
