MICHAEL DAVID MARSHALL "MIKE"

Michael David Marshall, 49, of Independence, Mo., passed away peacefully at 2 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010. Mike was born July 27, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., to Billy Don and Neysa Marshall, native of the Peoria Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma. As the youngest of four children, he was a loving son, adoring brother, loving stepfather/grandfather and a loyal friend. Mike loved Mexican food, the races, Chiefs Games, cooking for others and a good party. Mike lived the majority of his life in the Kansas City area, he attended college at CMSU in Warrensburg, Mo., in 1978, where he joined the Sigma Pi Fraternity. Preceded in death by his parents, Billy Don and Neysa (Adams) Marshall, and sister Lou Ann Medley, Mike is survived by older brothers Steve Marshall and Don Marshall; stepdaughters Christina Box and Michele (Johnny) Wright and their two boys, Mason and Aiden; nephews Brent (Tonya) Werremeyer, Brad (Mary) Marshall, Dave (Angela) Marshall, Scott Marshall, Brandon (Megan) Marshall, Billy (Kristi) Marshall, as well as Mike’s many Brothers in Christ in the Christian Living Program. A memorial service is planned at 4 p.m. January 16, 2010, at The Christian Life Center (City Union Mission) located at 1111 E. 10th St., Kansas City, MO 64106, followed by a celebration of life service at 7 p.m. at The Elks Lodge, 100 N.E. Brizendine Road, Blue Springs, MO 64014.
