Michael “Mike” Patrick Kelly, 29, Kansas City, Missouri formally of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away February 3, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, 7:00 PM, February 6, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri.
Mike was born October 19, 1987 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He will be remembered for his love of family and generosity. Mike had a power to light up a room with his laughter and ability to make his family and friends smile. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and his favorite college and professional sports teams.
Preceded in death by; grandfather, Joseph Kelly, grandmother, Gail Rice and step grandfather, Robert Miller. Survivors include; father, Joe and his wife Carol Kelly, Minnetonka, Minnesota; mother, Jill and her husband Darrell Lien, Gilbert, Arizona; brother, Shawn Kelly, Overland Park, Kansas; sister and brother-in-law, Shannon & Mike Breen and nephew Elis Michael, Lacey, Washington; sisters, Molly & Maggie Lien, Mesa, Arizona; brother, Matthew Kelly, Minnetonka, Minnesota; grandparents, Richard Rice, Casa Grande, Arizona, Betty Kelly, Minocqua, WI and his love of his life, Caitlin Jewett.
Mike will be missed by his family including his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jill, I am so sorry for your loss and I’ll be praying for you and the family.
Whatever room he walked into he would , radiate so much happiness, truly will miss that smile even though it’s been a long time since I have seen IT! Facebook pictures truly show that bright flame!!?

When Joe and Carol married, we got more than a wonderful brother-in-law addition to the Miller family. We were blessed with Shawn, Mike and Shannon. Mike’s unique grin and warm personality brought many fun times to our family gatherings. Our hearts are broken and we will always feel the loss. May all of Mike’s family and friends feel the love and comfort from us. Know that Tom met the ship that brought Mike to the other shore.
Mike Kelly was a brother to me. Words cannot describe the pain I feel for his family. So sorry for your loss. Stay strong.

I’m heartbroken to learn of this sad news. As Eric has said, Mike felt like family to us. The world has lost a bright soul who can never be replaced. I hope you can find some moments of peace in your grief.

To those closest to Mike, I am truly sorry for your loss. Mike was an incredible person whom I’m glad to have known. His laugh was contagious, and he would make friends with just about anyone he met. I will be thinking of him and his loved ones during this emotional time. Stay well.

Mike – I loved and will miss so many things about you:
the love you shared with my daughter and seeing that love grow
your love of your family and close friends
your hugs
your smile (and the twinkle you would get in your eyes when you smiled and you knew it came from your heart)
your patience when Cait and I would watch our shows
your caring and generous nature (you would give the shirt off your back if it was needed)
your love of food (you always commented on how much you enjoyed everything you ate)
your “gentlemanly” ways
Clearly I could go on but for now I will say – till we meet again!
Caitlin – Mike’s family and friends:
The hardest part of an unexpected death is not having the opportunity to say goodbye –
with the suddeness of Mikes passing, I wanted my first words to be to Mike – as a forever reminder of the many things I loved about him.
The Bible says “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” I pray that God will bless you and give you all the strength to get through this very difficult time.
We are so sorry and will be praying for you all as your grieve this sad loss. We love you guys!
