Mildred E. “Mid” Canning, 77, of Independence, Mo died December 26, 2013 at The Groves Nursing Home, Hospice Care Unit, following a long illness.
Mid is survived by her husband Lester Canning, of the family home; four sons Scott (Lehua) Canning of Carnation, WA, Todd (Donald Murphy) Canning, New York City, NY, Ross (Michele Pelot) Canning of Sherman Oaks, CA, Jonathan (Jodi Smith) Canning of Saskatoon, SK, Canada, four grandchildren; Chloe, Kailani, Kaleo and Aidan Canning, four sisters; Maggie (John) Boyd of Independence, Mary Sue (Floyd) Young of Lee’s Summit, Judy (Al) Sanford of Arlington, VA, and Julie (Steve) Anderson of Independence, two brothers; Nick Carter of North Kansas City and Richard (Connie) Carter of Independence.
Cards and Letters may be sent to the family home. Monetary tributes may be sent to The Groves Hospice Program, Independence, MO and/or Outreach International, Independence, Mo.
A memorial Service at the Walnut Gardens Community of Christ will be announced at a later date.
