Myron Fortenberry

Myron Fortenberry, 83, of Clarence, entered into eternal rest February 21, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital in Macon. Mr. Fortenberry was born on December 1, 1923 in Oak Grove Louisiana to the late Robert and Amanda (Pevytoe) Fortenberry. Myron served in the United States Army Air Corps and on Dec. 3, 1949 he married Kathleen Boling in rural Clarence and she survives him. After being discharged from the Army, Myron took the University of Missouri GI Agricultural Course and then began his career of farming. He and his wife wintered in Mission, TX for nineteen years and he was a member of the American Legion and the United Methodist Bacon Chapel. Myron loved God, his family, his farm, his livestock and music. Myron is also survived by three sons: Randy Fortenberry and his wife Donna of Kirksville, Martin Fortenberry and his wife Velvia of California, MO, Monte Fortenberry and his wife Janie of Clarence, one daughter: Myronna Parker and her husband Richard of Lewisville, TX, one brother; Clyde Wicker of Whittier, CA, thirteen grandchildren, Denia West and her husband John of Atlanta, Bradley, Nate, Tyler, Cody, and Todd Fortenberry all of Kirksville, Lori Fortenberry of Springfield, Brian Fortenberry of Rolla, Katie Fortenberry of St. Louis, Amanda Fortenberry of Bolivar, Crystal Parker of Bendbrook, TX, Jason Fortenberry of Columbia and Steven Fortenberry and his wife Stacy of St. Charles as well as five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date.

    I hope that others will find this so they can sign something here. I’ll always remember how tall he was and especialy how upbeat his attitude toward life had been even to the very end. I don’t know what else to say, but he will be greatly missed.
