Nadia Kathim Al-Maliky, 30, Raytown, MO passed away July 18, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL.  Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, MO.  Burial will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS following the service at 1:30 PM.  Ms. Al-Maliky was born March 31, 1984 in Tuscon, AZ.  She was a graduate of Raytown South High School, serving as a member of Civil Air Patrol in high school.  She served in the Army at The Division of Language Institute.  Survivors include her mother, Thouraya Al-Maliky; father, Kathim Al-Maliky; sister, Nooriya Al-Maliky; cousins, David and Eric Johnson; aunts, Maureen and Carol Swanson; grandmother, Frances Swanson; and many Al-Maliky cousins, aunts, and uncles in Iraq.  Nadia will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

    I miss you; I love you; As you know Nadia, I’m not religious. We discussed Hitchens and the philosophy of religion many times . . . but I do hope is there is something, I need there to be something, I want there to be something . . . You won’t be forgotten, I will do what I can to defend your memory . . .
