Norma Dean Burre Burkett 92, of New Bloomfield, passed away on November 1, 2019 at Villa Marie in Jefferson City, MO.
Norma was born in Callaway County on January 9, 1927, the first of two daughters of Louis Carl Burre and Alta Merle Davidson Burre.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas C. Burkett, Jr. They had three children; Valerie Burkett Hager (Steve Hager), Rhonda Burkett Ernst (Billy Ernst), and Ron Burkett (Dian Walz Burkett). Norma is survived by 5 grandchildren; Laura Beth Ernst Fogt, Jennifer Ernst Depew, Katie Burkett Luebbering, Patrick Burkett, and Ted Burkett; 2 step-grandaughters; Stacie Johnson, and Stephanie Roberts. Also, 9 great-grandchildren; Jaden, Dakota, and Kaila Depew; Brecken, Addelyn, and Kinsley Fogt; Hattie Kay and Hank Luebbering; and Nash Burkett. One niece; Cynthia Schreen. One sister; Lois Jean Burre Schreen (Darrell Schreen), both preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, at Dixie Christian Church, 9407 State Road BB, New Bloomfield, MO 65063, Pastor Steve Nelson officiating. Visitation 9:30 a.m., Service 10:30 a.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Dixie Christian Church. Final resting place will be Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
