Norman E Foster

Norman E Foster Wichita, KS. 81, Passed away Nov. 8, 2012. Born Sept. 6, 1931 in Flint, MI. to parents, Eldridge & Christina Foster. Norm graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949 then married his high school sweetheart, Violet Marinovich, on Aug. 5, 1950. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. He is a veteran of the Flint Police department and a former supervisor at A.C. Spark Plug/General Motors in Flint, MI. Then he spent 15 years owning and operating a family run restaurant in Gatlinburg, TN. He and his wife retired to Lawrenceville, GA in 1993 to be closer to their daughter and only grandchild. In 2003 they followed their son and daughter to live in Wichita, KS. Norm suffered the last few years from congestive heart failure and COPD. He slipped away from us peacefully while at Topeka, KS veteran’s hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass in his honor will be held Dec. 7 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Wichita, KS. He was an exceptional man, husband and father. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by survivors; wife of 62 years Violet; son Thomas (Cecelia); daughter Elizabeth and grandson Jacob, all of Wichita, KS; son Jeffrey of Lawrenceville, GA; brother James (Marge) of Davison, MI and many more friends and relatives. Rest in Peace Dad, We Love you
