Oren D. Wright

Oren Dudley Wright, February 9, 1933 – July 3, 2013

Dudley Wright passed away on July 3, 2013. He joins his parents, Elbert and Velta Wright, his brother Raymond Wright and his sisters Hazel Thomas, Ethel Reid and Joyce Starr.

Dudley was born in Ziegler, Illinois and moved to Kansas City, Missouri as a young child. He joined the Navy in 1953 and served on the U.S.S. Coral Sea during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956 as a Petty Officer third class. After his discharge from the Navy, he joined the Air Force Reserve and worked on airplane engines at Richards Gebaur Airforce Base. He retired from General Motors.

In 1994, Dudley joined the Masons and eventually reached the rank of 32nd Degree Master Mason. As a Mason, he served as a Worshipful Master of the Blue Lodge in Independence, MO.

He leaves behind his wife, Nadine, of the home, four children, Cindy Timmons of Coryden, Indiana, Jackie Patterson of Independence, MO, Janie Wright of Kansas City, MO, and Charles Wright of Independence, MO. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The family sends special thanks to Seasons Care Center and Garden Terrace at Overland Park for the exceptional care they gave to Dudley during the past year.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Services will by Monday July 8, 2013 at 10 am at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society. 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133
