Pamela Ann Thurston

Pamela Ann (Walterman) Thurston, 67, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House. Up until the end, Pam maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, and love of family and friends.

Pam was born on May 23, 1956, to Theresa Diane (Alkire) and Earl Howard Walterman Jr. in Kansas City, KS. She was the eldest of four children. They married the same year and went on to have two children, Scott and Angela. Pam performed various administrative jobs throughout her life. Pam was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Mimi”. Pam was a devout Catholic, who volunteered countless hours to the church throughout her life. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, watching movies with her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on her hometown KC teams. Pam was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Chris (Nancy) Renne, and Scott (Heather) Thurston; her daughter, Angela (Chris) Zaner; grandchildren, Ashtin, Caitlyn, Megan, Xian, Tytan, Addison, and Bailey; her sisters, Kim and Kerrie; her mother, Theresa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Walterman Jr., and her sister, Joan Catlin.
