Pamela Kay West-Airey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pamela Kay West-Airey (nee Phillips) who left us peacefully on September 30, 2026 at the age of 80.

Pam was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and friendly nature touched everyone she met.  Some of her greatest joys in life was the company of friends and family gathering for dinner, games, and family movie night.  She was proud of her work with Rainbow Girls and The Order of the Eastern Star.

Before dementia touched her, Pam was an artistic person, using many crafting mediums to include painting, beadwork, and crocheting.  Every holiday season, Pam would enlist the help of family to bake dozens and dozens of at least six varieties of cookies to share with friends, neighbors, and family.

Pam was an avid card player who loved to have poker nights, Texas hold ’em being a favorite.  Healthy, friendly competition and laughter was always a household fixture.  Her smile and warm hugs will be deeply missed by all who received them freely on a regular basis.

Pam is survived by her son, Steven West; granddaughter, Mariah West; and daughter-in-law, Missey West.  She is also survived by her granddaughter, Beth Ann Shelton; and great grandsons, Hunter, Sidney, and Ryder King.  Pam is predeceased by her husband, Steve West, who passed in 1997; husband, Patrick Airey; and her daughter, Carrie Ann Shelton.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 2 – 4pm at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133.
