Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
After a lengthy illness with Alzheimers disease and congestive heart failure, Pat finally lost the fight and passed away on July 3rd, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 2:30, Friday, July 11th at Floral Hills, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO located in the NE corner. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the Yellow Rock Barn, 8307 Westridge, KCMO from 4-6 pm. She was born on March 11th, 1933 and graduated from Raytown High School and lived with her husband, Jay, in Raytown for many decades.
She will long be remembered for being Pat, a unique individual who left an indelible mark on those she met. Creative and funny, not to mention ornery, she was truly a caregiver to many. She volunteered at several local hospitals and enjoyed giving hearing tests to newborn babies.
One of her passions was her grandchildren and spent a lot of time making memories as they were growing up. Along with her travels to Oregon and Colorado, she enjoyed the outdoors and soaked in all that nature would provide. Some of her ashes will travel to Colorado where the Michigan family will be celebrating a wedding later this month to again be united with the environment she so enjoyed.
Pat’s health and Sue’s stress were greatly helped by the loving care of Emma Anthony, who Sue introduces as her sister, and truly means it!! We’re grateful to the many friends and family we have been given in Pat’s life. Decades of friendship with Ben and Barbara Carmack, Bob and Jody Smith and Jeanne McMahan taught all of us the meaning of extended family. Sue’s nonstop caregiving these last 7 ½ years has taught us all the meaning of dedication and devotion.
Family gratitude goes to the caring staff at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence and to the wonderful ladies of Crossroads Hospice.
