Patricia Christoff

(Nee: Vargas, Wainman) Patricia Christoff, 76, KCMO, formally of Gary, Merrillville and Portage, Indiana. Passed away March 21, 2008 Liberty Hospital Missouri. Patricia was born on September 9, 1931 to William and Mary Catherine Wainman in Gary, Indiana. Patricia is survived by daughter Kathleen (Dr. Gregory) Mulcahy of Kansas City, MO, Sons; Mark (Karen) Vargas of Hickory Hills, IL and James (Adeline) Vargas of Chesterton, IN. She is also survived by Brothers William, Thomas (late Eleanor), Michael (Caroline), John (Kathy), Robert (late Irma), Paul (Chris) Wainman. Sisters Dorothy (Dud) Willis and Mary Helen Wainman. Patricia is also survived by eight grandchildren; Bernadette, Jennifer and Ashley Vargas, Daniel, Alec and Grant Vargas, Oliver and Owen Mulcahy and one great- grandchild Troy Perkins. Patricia is preceded in death by husband Boris Christoff, son Michael Patrick Vargas, parents Mary and William Wainman and sister, Theresa Yugo. Patricia was a 1949 graduate of Emerson High School and graduated with a Degree in Nursing from St. Mary Mercy Hospital Nursing School in 1952. Patricia retired from Mercy Hospital in Gary with over 40 years of service, with most of her time as the Head Nurse on 2 South. After retirement she relocated to The Gardens in Kansas City, Missouri. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and colleagues. She also leaves behind many close and dear friends at The Gardens. Patricia will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all. Patricia was also a life long die hard Chicago Cubs fan. A memorial service will be held at The Gardens in Kansas City, Mo on March 27 at 2pm.
