She was born in Kansas City, Missouri and spent her life in Leawood, Kansas and Lee’s Summit, Missouri with her family.
Patty attended Westport High School where she met her loving husband, Robert (Bob). They both went faithfully to Westport Presbyterian Church together and sang every week in the choir.
They were married on August 24,1953 and had 4 children: Janette, Steve, David and Matthew. Patty was such a devoted wife and mother and stayed at home to raise their children while Bob finished dental school to become an Oral Surgeon practicing in Raytown and Kansas City. It gave her great joy staying home with her children and being such a big part of their daily lives.
When the kids left home she worked for her husband, Dr. Bob for over 30 years handling every detail of the practice. She greeted the patients with her beautiful smile, assisted with surgeries and comforted patients in the recovery rooms.
Patty is survived by her daughter, Janette Towle (Steve), sons; David McCollum (Rosemary), Steve McCollum, Matthew McCollum, grandchildren; Sarrin Warfield (Robert), Megan Johnson (Louis), Logan McCollum and two great grandchildren, Emerson and Oakes Warfield.
Patty was a shining example of a selfless biblical mother. She adored her family and was involved in all the children and grandchildren events. They brought so much love and joy to her life.
Weekends were special, boating at the Lake of the Ozarks or at Lakewood. She enjoyed golfing with Bob and her friends and entertaining their friends and family at home. They loved to travel to Arizona and Naples, Florida.
Patty touched so many lives with her infectious smile and loving spirit. She will live on in our hearts forever. She’s probably dancing and singing with our Daddy right now in heaven.
A private family burial will be held at Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery, June 10, 2025.

I first met Mrs. McCollum through her son Steve. She was always kind, sweet, and supportive. She was deeply love by family and friends. I was able to know her better during vacations to the lake in the Ozarks and their family home. My deepest condolences to her family.
Dear Janette, I’m so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom. I never met her & haven’t seen you in many years, but seeing her photo…I think you look so much like her. Sending peace & comfort to all of your family.
Patty was beautiful inside and out. Her husband and family were everything to her. I remember hearing her laugh at one of “Dr. Bob” McCollum’s many jokes, probably a joke she had heard many, many times, but she always laughed like it was the only time she had ever heard it. My sincere condolences to her family.
Steve I am so sorry for your loss. I never meet you mom but I worked with you and the way you carry yourself and the love you have for others and our Lord and Saviour came from your parents. Know that they are very proud of you and are looking down from heaven holding their breath until you meet agai.
You are in my heart and prayers! Your mom was beautiful in and out.
Patty, a shining example of love personified. It was a joy to witness the love for her family and Bob. She never had a cross word, but was uplifting and supportive. I will miss our talks and cherish her always. Love and prayers for the family.
