Patricia (Bates) Coureton, 88, of Hallsville went to be with the Lord and her husband Harold on May 29, 2025. Pat was born on August 23, 1936 in Knoxville Tennessee, to Thelma and James Bates. Pat dedicated her life to her faith in God, her family and her love for friends and pets.
Pat retired from Walmart and loved talking to customers while making new friends.
She meet the love of her life Harold and celebrated 64 glorious years of marriage together. Harold passed on October 31, 2024 and Pat longed to be with him again, often saying she couldn’t wait to see her hubby.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Jimmy, David, Hugh and Finis and sister Paula.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Fredrick her husband Tom of Hallsville and a son, Lewis his wife Janet of Inman SC, two grandchildren, Cyle and Scott both living in Missouri and two sisters Emily and Gail both in Texas.
The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Cancer Institute as she is a breast cancer survivor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025 in honor of Pat and Harold from 11am – 3pm at the Centralia City Park.
I shall miss my big sister, although I am bigger than her. I miss Harold too. He wasn’t just a brother.im/law he was a brother to us. We were all close to each other and they both will be greatly missed. They were great parents to Lisa and Lewis who took great care of both Harold and Pat along with Lisa’s husband. I told Pat I would cry when she was gone and be happy for her at the same time, she missed Harold so much. I know neither are in pain any longer and that is a. blessing. RIP both of you till we meet again. Love and miss you both.
