Patty Diann Payne (Swadley), 69, who loved to be called “grandma Moe” passed away on July 2, 2024.
Patty was born in Kansas City, MO, to Wilmer (Cotton) and Grace Swadley. She was the second oldest of six children. Patty graduated from Young High school in 1973. Patty loved to knit and to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren always brightened up her day. She will surely be missed by all.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Payne; two sisters, Peggy Dodson and Linda Dodson.
She is survived by her six remaining children, Ernest Taylor, Charles Payne, Doug Payne, Alex Payne, Joseph Cisneros, and Sallyann Smith; one sister, Gail Cisneros; two brothers, Doug Swadley and Gary Swadley; and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by Patrick Smith.
A visitation and funeral will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, MO. The visitation begins at 10:00 am followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Mt, Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
So sorry to all the children and family of Patty. She was headstrong, but had a heart of gold! She is missed.
She was the best grandmother I could ever ask for i will miss her birthday songs on the phone the way she smiled but its okay she will always have a peice of my heart with her 💓 it wasn’t her time to go if I could I would spend a whole week with her again like when I was younger she will live forever in our hearts she is now partying pain free with Billy
