Peggy Gulotta

Peggy Gulotta (Clara Margaret Ushman McGee Gulotta), born in Springfield, IL, passed away quietly in her sleep on October 5th, 2021 at her home in Kansas City, MO where she lived with her youngest son and daughter-in-law, David and Tammy.

Peggy had been employed by the State of Missouri for 23 years as a Job Placement Technician and retired in 1993. After her retirement, she and her husband moved down by the lake in Edwards, MO. Her husband soon passed away in 1994.

She made friends easily and living in Edwards she made a lot of close friends. Peggy often attended Colonial Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking photos for VBS, especially when her youngest grandchild would come and stay with her for the week of VBS so he could attend.

A camera was like an attachment to her. Any event or occasion she would have out that camera snapping pictures which she always made copies for those whom she photographed. She often said that her grandchildren might not remember what she looks like because she always had a camera up to her face.

Peggy enjoyed board games, cards, and even computer games. She loved to read and was a fast reader. In her early retirement she could finish one or two books a day! She loved to sit down with her grandchildren when they were little and color with them and draw. She was an artist and had completed many oil paintings of scenery, wildlife and flowers. She collected salt and pepper sets, angels and of course books. She enjoyed watching tv, caring for her pets – mostly dogs, and she loved animals.

She was a cancer survivor and was a volunteer for The American Cancer Society.

Peggy was also a member of the Red Hat Society and TOPS 1089.

Peggy was preceded in death by her oldest child, Michael McGee and twin grandchildren, Ava & Alexa Toebben – Born and died in 2007. She leaves behind her daughter Barny McKye; son Don McGee and his wife Kellie; and David McGee and his wife Tammy; and an ex-daughter-in-law Sandy Stuenkel and her husband Marvin. Grandchildren: David Michael McGee – Stuenkel; Lori Georgulakos and her husband Nick; Lisa Fierst; Ryan McGee and his wife Kayla; Joey McGee and his fiance’ Deidre Carney; Jeff Stunkel; and Kim Toebben and her husband Corey.
