Peter Joseph Lucido

Peter Joseph Lucido died on July 6, 2012, at his home after a long illness. He was born on Nov. 26, 1928, to Clara and Samuel Lucido in St. Louis, Mo. He attended the University of Missouri at Rolla , graduating in 1952 with a degree in Ceramic Engineering. He then entered the United States Army as a second lieutenant and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Also in 1952 he married Marilyn Jane Emde, also of St. Louis. They had two daughters, Jane and Nancy. Peter had a long and successful career with Kaiser Refractories, including a five year stint in Paris, France, as the General Sales Manager for Europe and the Middle East. Pete loved to travel, read, and do photography. He loved good food and wine and friendly conversation. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Lucido and their daughters, Jane Wesley and her husband Ed and children Paige Balph and Tim Haber and his daughter, Nancy Kenner and her husband David and their children Lauren Victoria and Jack. In keeping with his love of food, wine and conversation Pete requested in lieu of a service that we have a celebration reception for his family and friends at the home of Nancy and David Kenner, 412 West 56th Street, Kansas City, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers donations will be gladly accepted by the Village Presbyterian Church where Pete and Marilyn were members.
