Regina Beare

Regina W. Beare, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2011 in her home.  A Celebration of Life and Visitation will be held on July 8, 2011 at 6:30 pm at the Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raytown, Missouri.

Regina was born January 23, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where she later married and had a daughter.  She enjoyed working for many years at the Hecht-May Company in the auditing office.  After retirement, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she enjoyed life on the farm with her niece and nephew, Jack and Peggy Peddicord.  Regina loved to read; especially mystery novels and she had a remarkable love for animals. She always kept her sense of humor and she loved being with her family above all else.

Regina is survived by: a daughter, Diane Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; a grandson, Jason Davis of Kansas City, Missouri and his wife Sara; two great-grandchildren, Zoë and Noah; her dog, Holly and many beloved nieces and nephews including:  Jack and Peggy Peddicord of Odessa, MO; Karen Jackson of Reno, NV; Keri Weyl of Atlanta, GA; Regina’s Godson Jim and his wife Reneé Peddicord of Odessa, MO; Eryn Peddicord of Kansas City, MO; Lauren, Pete and Jenna Speer of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Jimmy Peddicord of Odessa, MO.  She was loved by countless friends who will miss her laugh. She loved them all dearly in return.

She had many special caregivers, most notably St. Luke’s Hospice.  She loved her team and we thank those seen angels:  Kay, Lauren, Raiza, Amy, Harv, Doug, Jonie, and of course: Kathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Regina’s name to St. Luke’s Hospice, World Wildlife Fund or Wayside Waifs of Kansas City.
