Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Richard (Dick) Boyd Stuart, age 86, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away peacefully after a long battle with colon cancer on October 12, 2024.
Dick graduated from East High School, Kansas City, MO, in 1956. Dick was a manufacturer’s representative of handbags for over 35 years and was best known for his semi-annual handbag sample sales.
Dick’s first love was his family and his second love was Lake Lotawana. He loved his lake neighbors, friends and his lake front patio which he called “his office.” Dick was best known for his hospitality, his HUGE selection of tools, lawn care tips, barbeque skills, and community involvement (flags at the damn/gates, involved in the creation of Lot-A-Park, and one of the original members of the ROMEOs, etc., etc.). Many have enjoyed great conversations with him, and a cold beverage or two in “his office.”
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol; his daughters Jana Stuart and Stephanie Williams, son-in law Terry Williams and granddaughter Delaney Colvin.
A remembrance party will be held on Saturday, November 2, 1:00-3:00 pm at the Lake Lotawana Community Club (1 Lake Shore Drive, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086). Please stop in and share your favorite memories of Dick. His favorite snacks and beverages will be served; casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes monetary donations be made to the Lake Lotawana Community Club or Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City, MO.
Im so very sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. He was such a wonderful person that did not know a stranger. Hugs and prayers to all of you!!
