Richard E. Barncord, 84, Overland Park, Kan., passed away October 20, 2012, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. There will be no services. Mr. Barncord was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Emporia, Kan. Survivors include his wife, Norma; daughter, Roxie; son, Dennis; two grandchildren, Amanda Conley and Andrew Barncord; four great grandchildren, Alex, Brice and Megan Conley and Porter Macknight; brother, Bill and wife Flora; and sister, Ida Shipman.

My great grandfather was a great man. As I look upon him, with love and sorrow, I know now he is in a better place. He helped me a lot through the years and I only wish now that I could’ve have more time with him. May you rest in peace, I love you.
