RICHARD L. FORD

Richard L. Ford, 74, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He was a former resident of St Joseph, MO and resided with his ex-wife Carol, in Kansas City. He is survived by Carol, son, Gregory L. and grandchildren, Joseph L. and Hailee. Richard fought and won four battles with cancer but finally lost the war. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul L. and Helen M Ford of St Joseph. Richard “Dick” proudly served his country in Vietnam for 3 years as a member of the Army Security Agency. He devoted many years working with the Boy Scouts as cub master and scout master. Dick was an Honorary Warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of St Joseph and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. He was employed by the UniGard Security Company in Kansas City. He will be forever missed by friends, family, and neighbors. A private bedside service was conducted in the Hospice Unit of the VA Hospital. As Dick wished, his body has been cremated under the direction of Heartland Cremation & Burial Society of Raytown, MO The family has requested donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or Boy Scouts of America of St Joseph. owse(Arr.
