Richard Allen Shorey, 71, Knob Noster, MO passed away September 1, 2012. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at VFW Post 4195, 56 NE HWY D, Knob Noster, Missouri. Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri. Richard was born September 6, 1940 in Portland, Maine. He retired as a Master Sergent after 20 years in the Air Force and serving in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement he worked and retired after 20 years for GTE in Colorado. Richard is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include; son, Glen; daughters, Susan & Janet and many grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, old westerns, BBQ and his ability to become friends with everyone he met. (arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)
