Robert A. Potter

Robert A. Potter, age 82, passed away December 30, 2011 surrounded by loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, minister, and friend to many. Bob was a talented man, who held many different positions throughout his life including: caring for the Adam’s Dairy six-pony hitch, serving in the Air Force, owner/operator of Ozark Trails Campground and Colonel Bob’s Country Flea Market in Linn Creek, Mo. He served as the County Clerk of Camden County. He also worked as an auctioneer, carpenter, and painter. Bob was an avid volunteer all of his life. He worked in the paddocks of the American Royal for 20 years, was a member of the Lone Jack Historical Society, and a docent of the Truman library. He was a guide in Nauvoo, IL for 2 years. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of sixty-one years Ruth Potter, two daughters, Marlene Carnahan, and Sandra McCormick, sister Martisha Watson, three granddaughters, and many friends. Services will be held Monday, January 2nd at South Crysler Community of Christ Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Outreach International.
