Robert Dean Meacham

Robert “Bob” Dean Meacham, 81, Overland Park, Kan., passed away surround by loved ones on August 8, 2011. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Village Presbyterian Church, Prairie Village, Kan. A visitation will follow the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Village Church. Bob was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Lorraine, Kan. Bob attended KU and John Brown University, and was a member of Delta Tau Delta at KU. He was a US NavyVeteran, and Navy fighter jet carrier pilot. Bob retired from TWA in 1989 after 34 years. Captain Meacham flew many of the planes in the TWA fleet, including the 747. Bob is preceded in death by his father and mother, E.D. and Ruth (Farlow) Meacham; and sister, Dorothy Read. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Louie Martin-Meacham; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lorie Meacham; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Tim Kraly; grandkids, Charles Robert and Anna Meacham, Amanda and Lauren Kraly; brother, Donald Meacham; and sisters, Ruth Mary Mesler and “Gerre” Smith-Tweedy.
