Robert J. ‘Bob’ Johnson

Robert J. (Bob) Johnson, 87, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. He was born on October 15, 1927 in Sedalia, MO to Rolla and Florence Johnson.  Bob grew up in Boonville, MO and graduated from Boonville High School in 1945.  After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Bob married Shirle Shepard in 1960 in Oelwein, Iowa. They were happily married for 55 years. Bob had a gentle nature, a witty sense of humor and a strong devotion to his family. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who always saw the good in others. He loved his time at the lake where he spent countless hours entertaining friends, boating and soaking up the sun; he was still waterskiing at age 60.

Bob is survived by his wife Shirle; son Greg and wife Staci Johnson of Raleigh, NC; daughter Julie and husband Brad Smith of Independence, MO; and his grandchildren Blake, Chad and Alex Johnson & Lindsay, Joshua and Noah Smith.
